Half Moon Bay: Glamping

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

My family has always loved to RV or Trailer camp. Some of my best memories are taking the RV to Pinecrest or Santa Cruz. There were times when my aunts, uncles and cousins would go and it would be an entire “family-like-reunion.” Some people would disagree with trailer or Rv camping (or as I call it “glamping”) but it can be pretty convenient with kids in tow. Most of the nicer campgrounds are really close to the local towns so if you wanted to explore the area that is an option!

We recently stayed at St. Francis State beach in Half Moon Bay and had so much fun! My parents took their RV, my sister came and we had some family friends there as well. The beach was in walking distance which was so nice for the kids.

A few tips I have for glamping with kids:

-Pack medicine. I always have baby tylenol and benedryl in the trailer. There was a time when we were staying in the middle of no where and Oliviah was sick. I felt so bad for her but we made it through and she was happy with all things considering. Also diaper cream if you have little babes! Since then…I keep medicine stocked!! I also keep tylenol, tums and AZO stocked as well for the adults.

-Tampons (sorry guys TMI). Ya just never know.

-LOTS of clothes for the kids. I check Target and Wal Mart for little sweat outfits, t-shirts, socks, undies, and comfy slip on shoes. I keep clothes in the trailer but I also pack extra.

-Activities & Toys: These come in handy when you want to have some adult conversation and the kids are bored at the campground. I will tag some fun toys and games we brought that kept the kiddos busy.

-Fun games for parents! We played a lot of corn hole and cards against humanity.

Of course there are a lot of other things to keep in the trailer (blankets, soap, shampoo, towels, etc.).

Anyone else have kids who get 100x more excited to see their grandparents then they ever do to see you??

We all were definitely sad to leave 🙁

We can’t wait until our next trip! I have included two “gift guides” below with some items I found useful this trip. Click on either picture to find all of the links to each item!
